"I study, learn and experience" The project is partly funded by European Social Fund, a part of Human Capital Program.
The aims of the project which are going to be completed by the institution: Project no 1 Experimental physics and mathematical data analysis classes: - After school classes for students who are interested in physics and astronomy as well as mathematics. - New ways of teaching have been introduced as a part of the project. - Skill-sharing of upper secondary school teachers from various schools - Presentation of students? achievements at the interschool meeting The aim of the project is not only to expand students? knowledge but also: - to convince them that mathematics can be a useful and helpful tool for the research description of natural science, physics and astronomy in particular - to introduce the students with the basics of mathematical statistics at a superior level to that of the school?s curriculum - to introduce the students with the basics of economics with reference to the project realization - to use the latest means of technology in taking and working out the measurements and to discuss the results as well as the possible applications (i.e. in economics) - to shape the self-reliance of knowledge and skills acquirement on the basis of technical and mathematical literature (also in English) The classes were designed for two groups: group 1:for the students of Year 1 and 2 and group 2: for the students of Year 3
Project no 2 Mathematics ? Towards Matura Exam - After school Mathematics classes for the students of Year 1, 2 and 3 - The aim of the classes is to prepare the students for the obligatory Matura Exam in Mathematics Goals: - Year 1: leveling the knowledge differences after secondary school and the improvement of the arithmetic skills - Year 2: the use of examination systems in exercises; the strategies of solving the open and multi choice problems; expansion of the mathematical skills with reference to the new educational basis for the basic and extended level - Year 3: the use of mathematics paying special attention to the choice of further education; the improvement of the strategies in solving the exam sheet Moreover, the students will be accustomed to the typical elements of mathematical reasoning and prepared for the usage of mathematical skills in solving the problems of various educational fields as well as everyday life problems.
The classes were designed for five groups: basic level for the students of Years 1, 2, 3, and extended as well as standard bilingual level for the students of Year 3
